The Prologue : Reality..Isn't it?
Keiko grinned triumphantly, jumping up on her bed.
"Yes! I finally beat him!" She yelled, prancing around.
Her brother walked in and looked at her weirdly. She stopped and took the controller back into her hands.
"I finally beat King Solodeir, Reeve! BWAHAHA! I FINALLY BEAT THIS GAME!"
Reeve looked at her, amusement scratched on his masculine features. "Hmm… Then you wouldn't want me to do... this...?" He asked, holding up the cord to her Playstation 2.
"AAAAAHHH! FUCK OFF, REEVE!" She screamed. "AT LEAST LET ME SAVE!"
Reeve just smirked and took a sip of his water. "I wasn't going to… Chill." He said, starting to walk away from behind the TV.
Keiko sighed loudly; putting her forehead on her red controller specially made for her. She was a video game freak- owning every console she could get her hands on, as well as any games. Sin of Dacenbeirg was her most recent buy, and she had loved it.
Reeve took another sip of his water, watching his little sister amusedly. He loved taunting her… She was only a few months younger than his fifteen, but he always teased her about it. He watched her sigh in relief as he slowly made his way from behind the tangled mass of black cords. He was so busy looking at her that he didn't notice where he was walking… And tripped, spilling his water everywhere. He cursed himself, realizing her got her brand new PS2 soaked…
"Keiko, I'm sorry! I'll make it up to you, I swear.. I'll buy you a new one…" He cried, scrambling out to look at her, only to be faced with her controller… Charred and black, as well as her bed…
"Where is she?" Reeve asked aloud. Did she burn to death…..? No, there would be some trace… He looked back at her game console. It was broken, alright. He could see the disc glinting out. He took the disc and looked at it hard. "Maybe she… No, that's stupid. She couldn't be in there…"
Oh, how wrong he was.
I screamed. "Where am I?!"
It was pitch black; and I couldn't see anything… I wandered forward, coming out of the dark into a grassy plain that I knew so well… "Am I… in .. the game…?"
I gasped, looking about. It was so beautiful, even more than looking at it from my big screen TV.
I saw the large castle of Dacenbeirg protruding from the ground, and walked up to it, keeping an eye out for monsters.
I greeted the burly guards brightly, who looked at me oddly, but let me inside anyway. I realized my clothing was a bit… odd… compared to those here. I was wearing dark blue jeans and a red Chinese dragon T-shirt. My hair was black and put up into two buns on the side of my head with chopsticks. Well, perhaps the hair was slightly normal…. I looked at someone passing by with a large furry, pink hat.
I sighed, deciding to go look for Tatsuke, the game's heroic bishounen… Not just to get a good look…
I thought that he might understand my predicament.
I knew where to go. I walked towards the large artist studio, and went inside. The artist, Toni, greeted me, and I smiled, pulling on a candle to get to Tatsuke's secret hideout.
The roar of a burning fire welcomed me, illuminating the dank room. And there, in the corner, was Tatsuke, asleep. I smiled… He looked cute. But that was not what I was here for! I shoved his shoulder. "C'mon, wake up…" Then I chuckled, remembering that this was exactly what his friend Kino had done in the game before finally pouring a glass of water on him. I smiled and grabbed the conveniently placed glass, pouring the contents on his delicate face.
He coughed and sputtered, looking wildly around, his eyes finally resting on me. "W-who are you?" He asked, completely bewildered. "Why are you here? Where's Kino? Why are you dressed like that?"
I sighed and sat down on the coffee table. "My name's Keiko, and I already know that you're Tatsuke…"
"Oh, a fan, eh? Care for an autograph? A kiss?" He asked, smirking.
I rolled my eyes. As tempting as a kiss might be… "No. I'm.. I'm not from here…" I said.
He blinked. "How can you not be? You're here, aren't you?"
"N-no… You're aware that this is a video game… aren't you?" I asked timidly.
He chuckled. "Yes, but that's in the alternate universe, you have to go through the hole in the bottom, right there." He said, pointing to a large hole in the middle of the floor that I didn't remember ever seeing.
"Whoa. How many alternate realities are there?" I asked, my eyes widening.
"I only know of two… But you.. Where are you from? I never have seen you here…" He said, trailing off.
"Well, see, I was playing the video game… Back home, on Earth…" I started, only to be cut off by Tatsuke.
"Earth?! I always thought that was a legend…."
I coughed. "Ahem. Anyway, I was playing, and I had just beat King Solodeir…"
"Ah, that bastard…" Tatsuke happily interjected.
I threw a hard glare, and he shut up. "ANYway. My dumbass brother came in, and blah blah blah, ended up tripping and pouring water all over my TV and stuff… and I ended up.. here."
Tatsuke whistled. "Well, I can try and help you… But we'll need to find you some clothes."
I smiled. "Thanks."
