Innocence

The sparkling water shimmers its smile at me
I watch it ripple with large brown eyes
How fascinating is its serenity!

The raging river roars its anger at me
I listen to it crashing against the rocks
How intimidating does it seem!

The majestic waterfall pours its beauty down
I drown in its immense celestial glory
Don't ever let me leave . . .

This beauty entrances my very soul
Never do I want this feeling to leave
Forever do I want to be part of this

But, alas, my world is calling my name
And now I must take my leave
I must leave my childhood behind
