Summary: When Eve was eight, she met Santa Clause's son, Cris. Now eight years later, he appears again. But she's not exactly sure why. Or what to do with him.

It was the night before Christmas, and Eve, an eight year old girl, was sitting in her living room eating cookies and drinking milk, waiting for Santa Clause to come.

'I can't wait to meet santy clause.' she thought.

But as the night went on, she grew tired.

She yawned, 'No! I must stay up. I've wanted to meet him all year.'

As much as she wanted to stay up, she fell sleep.

Soon, there was a noise. Eve slowly opened her eyes, finding them cloudy from rest.

'Huh? What's that?' She thought sleepily.

Standing there was a young man, of about 16, in a red buttoned coat and dress pants, with black boats. He had shaggy white hair, and some of the prettiest blue eyes she ever saw.

"Who are you?" Eve said slowly.

He looked surprised. 'She can see me? She must be someone special then.' He smiled at her.

"Don't worry little one, I'll be gone soon. Just go back to sleep," He said conjuring up a blanket to cover her with. It had a picture of a winter snowfall on it, with a log cabin in the center.

Eve's eyes slowly slid back closed. The young man smiled at her.

'I think I'll watch her more carefully from now on. She seems different then the rest of the children.' He sighed and headed toward the Christmas tree. He put Eve's and her family's presents under there.

'Well, I better go now. Got the whole world to cover.' He looked at Eve. "Goodnight angel." He whispered, and disappeared.

"Goodnight, Santa."

Eve's POV

It's been eight years since that day. I still can't believe it.

I walked to class in a hurry. I was late.

"Ms. Evens, your late again. Please don't make a habit of this," Mrs. Fringe told me.

"I'm sorry, I've just been having a hectic week."

"Just try not to do it again."

"Alright. I'm sorry."

As class went on, I thought of the last week. It has been hectic. My parents, as wonderful as they are, are going to be going on a vacation.

Without me. I've been helping them get ready to leave. Starting tomorrow morning, I'm going to be alone till the day before school starts.

And I shall be alone. On Christmas.

Sometimes I wonder about my life.

After school was out, I headed home. My parents were taking a plane tonight to Hawaii. They aren't exactly the most winter loving people out there. Me, however, I love winter. Can't wait for it to come.

Once I got home, I headed to my room and set my stuff down. I got on my computer and and onto my buddy list. Cris was on.

xXx_Cris_xXx: yo.

*~*Meow*~*: Hey Cris. What's up?

xXx_Cris_xXx: not much. u?

*~*Meow*~*: just got home from school. and starting tomorrow, i get the house to myself.

xXx_Cris_xXx: ya do? cool. wait. its xmas season. ya shouldn't be by urself.

*~*Meow*~*: well, i am. and will be till i get back to school.

xXx_Cris_xXx: damn. that sux. y?

*~*Meow*~*: *shrugs* parents leaving. bro at college.

xXx_Cris_xXx: thats unfair. u should not be alone on xmas.

*~*Meow*~*: i know, but what can i do? nothin

xXx_Cris_xXx: if i could, i'd join you. would you mind if i did? *grins*

I grinned. He lives in Alaska, and I live in Georgia. Kind of far away. If he did get here somehow, I doubt I'd mind. Good company.

*~*Meow*~*: nah. wouldn't mind a bit. but since you live on the other side of the world, that would be a problem.

xXx_Cris_xXx: heh. ya. But don't worry, Eve, you will have a good Christmas. I promise you.

I stared at the screen. He seem so sincere. I smiled. I hope it comes true. A wonderful Christmas. I would love that.

*~*Meow*~*: Thank you Cris. I hope your Christmas is as good as you hope mine to be.

xXx_Cris_xXx: Hope? I don't hope it to be good, it will be. I promised you this, and it shall come true. well, i g2g now. I'll talk to ya tomorrow. *winks* laters!

*~*Meow*~*: Later Cris.

xXx_Cris_xXx logged out. (12/14/03 5:31PM)

I smiled. That was Cris alright. Joker. I sighed. Well, tomorrow is the first day of vacation. I get to sleep in. Yay.

"Hey Eve, wake up." Someone said. I groaned. To....early....

"Eve. Do you know what time it is?" The voice said.

I thought for a second. Do I know the time? No. And I don't care.

"No. And I don't care." I mumbled.

The voice sighed.

Wait a second. Voice? Someone? Do I even know who this person is?

My eyes shot open. I turned over in bed to find a pair of blue eyes staring into mine.

I blinked stupidly.

"Hi," He said.

I blinked again. Then screamed.

He held his hands to his ears and closed his eyes in pain.

I bet that hurt.

Well to bad for him.

When I was done screaming, I looked at him. And I mean really looked at him.

He had blue eyes, a very pretty shade of blue eyes. Shaggy hair. White, shaggy hair.

My eyes opened wide, and an image of a stranger with in a Santa outfit appeared in my head.

I screamed again.

This time, however, instead of covering his ears, he took a hand and covered my mouth. He was breathing heavily, staring into my eyes.

"Eve. Please don't scream again. I don't think my ears can take it. Now if I take my hand off of your mouth, will you scream again?" He asked.

I shook my head. I wanted answers.

He took his hand off. "Now, I think I owe you an explanation," He started out.

I glared at him.

He smiled sheepishly. "Well, remember when you were 8 years old? And you thought you saw Santa?"

How does he know that? My glare depened.

He looked slightly scared, but continued. "Uh...that was me. I'm Santa clause. Well, his son."

By now, I had a blank look. Santa clause? Riiight... But then... how would he know about when I was eight, and why would he look the same, though in different clothing?

I looked at him skeptically, and then spook, "If you really are his son, then what were you doing then, and what are you doing here now?" And why do you look the same, I thought to myself.

He sat down on my bed and looked down at his lap.

It was then I noticed that I was still wearing my nightwear. Which is a nightgown. Crap.

I quickly gathered up the covers. "Ummm.....can you kinda leave the room for a few minutes?" I said blushing.

He tilted his head and looked at me innocently. Cute. Gah! Stop that thought! "Why?"

I blushed darker. How embarrassing. "I'm in my nightgown. I need to change."

He blushed lightly, and stood up and hurried out of my room, closing the door.

"I'll be in the living room waiting for you," He said on the other side of the door.

I sighed. Things are officially complicated. Damn.

A.N.- That's chapter 1. I'm writing this, seeing as it's the christmas season, and I was inspired by another christmas fic, though short. And it got me thinking, what if something like that happened? But since it was a one-shot, I felt kind of.....disappointed. Though it was wonderful. I hope to get this done before January, so as to not be much out of season. Well, enough babbling. Please Review, and maybe check out my other story...which I have writers block on...
