Sweet Innocence

Chapter 2: "You'll thank me later."

There I sat at the dinner table. I was silent... The groups of boys around me were all chatting happily. I poked at my food. Dinner was loud and boring. Not what I was usually used to. I ignored the immature conversation of the boys and concentrated on my own problems.

"Hey Bobby!" A kid called to me. I looked over to see it was Aiden who had called me.

"What?" I asked, upset.

"You're staring again."

"No, I'm thinking."

"If you say so, man," Aiden said with a grin.

"So, new kid," A brown hair boy had said to me. I hadn't talked to him yet. He was a bit chubby, but not fat. And he was short.

"Yeah?"

"What's your story?" He asked.

"Story?" I questioned. What exactly did he mean by that?

"Yeah, why your in this school..." Aiden explained.

"Oh," I said, understanding. I guess I have no choice, but to tell them the truth. "An evil curse. I'm here because of an evil curse."

Aiden and the brown haired kid looked at each other before bursting out laughing. Boys are so immature. Can't they take anything seriously? Not that anyone would believe me anyway... it does sound a little stupid...

"No, seriously!" The brown haired kid said.

"I am serious," I answered honestly. Tom sat down beside.

"Is she giving you the bull about evil curse or whatever?" Tom asked the two boys.

"Yeah," They said in unison.

"Why can't you just tell us the truth?" The brown haired kid asked.

"I am telling the truth. And maybe one day...I'll tell you the details."

"Our stories are all the same," Tom said. "Bobby's won't be any different. We're all 'strictly religious' little rich boys forced here by our parents."

"Ain't that true!" Aiden said with a laugh. Tom smiled.

"Are you really all that religious?" I asked, curiously.

"Oh, yes," Aiden said, sarcastically. "We carry around our Bibles everywhere."

"Or that's what they think. The priests...they think we're perfect little angels," The brown-haired kid snickered. "If only they knew..."

"Knew what?" I asked, with a frown. Things were started to get confusing and...weird. Tom gave the guys a 'look.'

"Nothing," He assured me. "Nothing."

Obviously, nothing meant something. Even I could figure out that. They wouldn't be hiding anything from the 'new kid' for long. I was more clever than they thought. I wasn't just some stupid guy. I was me.

"Sure," I said. I went back to poking at my food. Once dinner was over, everyone had to return to their dorms before curfew. Can you actually believe they have a curfew here? How pathetic!

I returned the dorm first and laid down on my bed. I forced myself to at least do a bit of homework...

Tom soon entered the room followed by Aiden. They paid no attention to me. They went on with regular business, getting ready for bed and all sorts like that. And throughout the hallways came a booming voice.

"Lights out in one minute!"

Tom looked at Aiden before turning off the lights. He gave him sort of a warning look.

"Nothing tonight. At least not it here..." He muttered. Aiden stared and nodded. These boys puzzled me. There was a dirty little secret and I planned to find out. I just didn't know how right I was...

Tom turned off the lights and soon they were asleep. I couldn't fall asleep. I had that nap earlier and it was keeping me awake. And of course, I was haunting by my curse. I closed my eyes and thought back to how it happened.

"Are you serious?!?" I had shouted at my maid. She had given me this ugly dress to wear for the evening. It was truly hideous. "Take the wretched thing back this instant."

"But, Miss, it is a gift from your mother. It costs thousands."

"Do I care?" I asked, flipping my curls. "Burn it for all I care."

"As you wish," And she was off. I sighed with aggravation. I settled for the dress I had bought a week ago. I hadn't worn it yet, deciding it didn't match my eyes. But what other choice did I have? I didn't want to wear the same thing twice. That'd be just gross.

I got into my limo and soon arrived at the business party, ready for glam. While getting my picture snapped, this ugly homeless person practically attacked me and everything blacked out. I woke up in an alleyway to see the woman. And of course I panicked.

"Where have you taken me!?!? Who are you? Where is everybody?"

"Shush, child. There is much to be decided."

"What the... Who the hell are you?"

"I've seen what you've done. You've treated others like trash. You've placed yourself in high status. You care only for money and power," She said. "You are not God, Bobi..."

"You're going to jail! I'll make sure of that."

"But, I will give you a chance to redeem yourself and spare yourself from a terrible curse," She ignored all my words. "Give up your desires for money and for power and I will set you free."

"What? Yeah, right," I said.

"You have left me with no choice, child." She said. She started muttering words in some kind of strange language. No doubt I was freaked out.

"You will under go a transformation. When you awake you shall be a man. You will live as a man until you set yourself free. To end this curse, you must lose your love for money and power and receive a kiss from your true love."

"Yeah, right lady. Your crazy!"

"And you must do all this at an All-boys Catholic School."

"Hypothetically speaking, if you did this to me...how the hell would I find true love at a freakin' Catholic school? I'm a guy. They're all guys. And they're all super strait and clean...Anti-homosexual..."

"That's for you to figure out..."

"Yeah, right..."

Everything blacked out once again. And here I am. Stuck with this great problem. I fell into a sleep and had that horrible nightmare again.

The next morning, Tom was shaking me awake.

"Hey. Wake up Bobby, I'm offering you the shower first," I opened my eyes to see Tom, lightly shaking my shoulders.

"Shower? First?" I mumbled, still half-asleep.

"Yeah. You better hurry before Aiden wakes up. He takes hours. I swear...when it comes to him and the bathroom, he's like a girl."

"Hehe…" I laughed nervously. "Are you sure you'd offer it to me first? I do take a while."

"Not longer than Aiden."

"That's what you think," I said, groggily. I grabbed clothes and headed into the shower. Of course, I took long. It felt so weird, not waxing. I made sure I looked especially presentable. If I was going to be a guy, I might as well still always look my best. I tried my best to 'shave' like a man does. It was awkward. I made my hair perfect with all the fine hair products. I love my wonder gel. I had to be absolutely perfect.

I came out looking...hot. Yeah, that's the word. I saw Aiden and Tom look at me. They were glaring.

"You know we only have a half hour left for each us," Aiden glared at me. "How could you do this to me!?!?"

"Ignore him," Tom said. He got up and headed into the shower as Aiden glared at me. Tom shut the door and Aiden looked at it, with surprise.

"Hey!" He shouted. He ran to the door and started banging on it. "It was my turn! Aw, damn!"

I laughed and sat on my bed. I became bored easily.

"What do you people do you people do for fun?" I asked, with a yawn. Aiden looked at me and grinned.

"Are you sure you want to know?" He asked. I didn't answer him.

"Don't you guys have like a TV or something?"

"TV...no, we do not. We're suppose to entertain ourselves with the Bible, I'm guessing."

"I'm going to die here," I muttered, unhappily.

"You can go get breakfast," Aiden suggested. He was trying to be friendly. "Tom and I won't get a chance to for certain, unnamed reasons. But you might as well."

"I guess I could..." I said, not really wanting to. But I went anyway. Aiden was strange. Even though I am 'technically' a guy, I still have my intuition. There's something wrong about Aiden. Something I definitely don't like.

Once in the cafeteria, I grabbed a bagel and ate it quietly. I was soon joined by Aiden's friends...or at least I think they were. There was that brown haired kid.

"Hey new kid."

"It's Bobby," I corrected with a frown.

"Yeah, right. Whatever. Where's Aiden?"

"I don't know," I said with a shrug. I wanted them to leave me alone. "Now you can go away."

"I have a right to sit where ever I want to, you know..."

"Fine. Go ahead," I muttered, unhappily. I didn't really like any of these boys. They were and like ordinary people. I thought they were supposed to be rich. They sure don't act rich.

I finished my breakfast and headed back to get my books. School had really begun now.

I sat through classes, confused and bored. Real classes in a school were so tough. I don't know how'll I get through this. I'm use to getting my own private hunky tutor. I usually paid him for no homework or tests or whatever. I never really paid attention. When you're rich like me, you feel as if you don't need school.

But here I was in a real school. I would have to work hard. Jeez, this sucks. I didn't actually think I'd have to do work. How wrong I was... I somehow managed through my first classes... I'd have to ask Tom or someone for help. Why me?

I headed back to my dorm at lunch. I wasn't all that hungry and decided I'd work on homework now. I'd need a lot of time to get this down. As I opened the door, I accidentally walked in on Tom changing.

"Oh my! I'm sorry!" I said as I saw him changing. I started to redden and I closed the door, hurrying away.

What's wrong with seeing him changing? Why are you blushing?! You're a guy now too! Bet he saw you all red. No wonder they think I'm queer. Okay, it's not really my fault. I'm in a man's body, but I still think like a girl. I got to start thinking like a guy... Ew. gross. All they think about is jacking off and naked women.

I stopped thinking like a guy. That was really pathetic of me. Jeez, overreacting over nothing. I looked down at the floor as I continued walking on. And then bumped into someone. Probably a priest or someone.

"Excuse you," I muttered, looking up. Only to see it was...Tom. "Oh, it's only you."

"Yeah, it's only me," He repeated. "Are you okay? If you don't like being called queer than stop asking for it."

"What?"

"I'm sorry man. You act like a wuss...like a girl. Only a girl blushes that red."

"It's not my fault, I blush like girl," I muttered, as I pushed back Tom.

"Wait," He said, grabbing my hand. I stopped and looked back at him, my eyes glowing. It was times like I now I could have sworn I was my normal self. Everything felt almost the same.

"What do you want bud?"

"I don't normally do this...but I wanted to warn you a bit," He said, in a hushed voice. "Some weird shit goes down in this school. I'd just thought I'd give the queer guy a warning. You better fix up your act or things won't get to pretty."

"What are you talking about?" I asked, confused. Nothing could be weirder than what happened to me.

"Nothing. Forget it," He said, slightly annoyed. I glared and went on, away from him. I found a library. It was pretty deserted... I entered to see no one. There were Bibles on display everywhere. I sat down at the table closest to the door and opened my books.

It was useless. I was stupid as a rock. This had never happened when I was a girl! But now it suddenly happens! It's not fair. I wish I could go spend money or something. By some diamonds or a nice dress. Maybe even a nice massage or something. A day at the spa... I miss the luxuries! I want them back.

"Well well well..." I heard a voice from behind me. "Look who've we got here."

I reluctantly turned around, glaring. It was Aiden. I should have known. He smiled, no...it was actually more of a smirk. He smirked at me.

"What do you want?" I asked, bitterly, never removing the glare from my face.

"Not many come to the library. It's always an empty place," Aiden stated. I nodded.

"So what?"

"Nothing. Just a bit surprised to see someone here."

"Why?" I asked, carefully. I didn't want to seem as if I was prying. Yes, I was curious, though.

"I conduct all my business here," He said, with a smirk. "Nice and empty."

"Business?" I questioned, confused. There's something wrong here. I know it. Why the hell is my life becoming fucked up?

"Yeah, business," He said, cleverly. "Would you like to find out...?"

"No, he wouldn't," Interrupted none other than… Tom. Tom grabbed my books and dragged me out by my arm. I glared at Tom. Damn, he's annoying. I always come so close to finding out the little secret of this Catholic Academy. And then he appears and ruins everything. I hate him.

"Are you fucking mad?!?" He hissed at me. I glared.

"What are you talking about?"

"What the hell were you doing in the library!?!"

"I went to do my homework..."

"Well, don't. I'm just trying to protect you, queer one. So fucking listen to me. Stay away from Aiden and his group. Don't go wandering."

"What's up with all of this secrecy!?" I shouted at him, rather pissed off.

"You'll thank me later," He muttered, walking away.
