A/N: This poem was inspired by this quote by Luciano De Crescenzo, " We are each of us angels with only one wing. And we can fly only by embracing each other."

One-Winged Angels

God created angels to be as he intends and mankind to be as we intend to be.

Angels are perfect in their servitude and we are imperfect, yet free.

God has privileged the angels with glorious wings and the ability of heavenly flight.

In his infinite justice, he gives us no less, and also grants us that paradisiacal right.

Yet because we may choose the direction we fly, he has bestowed upon us but only one wing.

For that we must embrace one another in order to take to the skies and sing.
