The Solace of Solitude
The moon is my only companion tonight
Shining o'er the lands, a faint grey light
Providing comfort where others can't,
And daring to go where others shan't.
Pouring out its story through my window panes
Dancing in the fog as it continuously wanes
Broken promises float in whispers on the wind
As it breaks into memories no one's left to defend
A stream of conscious thought spills out of my head
Do I pursue you forever, or is our love dead?
Oh, I grow weary of this tragic affair
Are you tired at all? Do you even care?
Is it pointless to shed a sad lonely tear—
And continue to seek solace in this glowing sphere?
