Black and White

Outside she is branded in black
Kohl and fishnet – eyes deep mystery
Never letting one inside her mind
[close enough to touch and yet untouchable]
Silver climbing up her ears
Pins and needles through skin
Wistful stare – reaching for something beyond comparison
Comprehension

Inside, there is white flame
Wrenching passion alight across
A tormented psyche; an unearthed muse
Memories of former things
Darkness slashed through with a scythe
Of promise

The thorn among roses, that changes with the dawn and dusk

And she is beautiful
