Kings and queens of hearts, they play,
And gamble their whole lives away,
With just the chance of love to lose
On any bet that they might choose.

I've tried to choose a winning bet,
I've even tried to stack the deck.
But every game that I have lost
Was never, ever worth the cost.

So in the end I'm forced to play,
When other bets have gone astray,
The only game that's ever fair -
This lonely game of solitaire.
