She Didn't Fit In
She didn't fit in
She could tell by the way they looked at her
Checking her out, her clothes, her hair
Her skin colour
It had always been like this
Ever since they started noticing colour
She was picked on, ridiculed and left out
School was hard
She didn't have many friends
She wasn't one of them
She didn't fit in
They grouped together, blocking her out
Anyone who tried to get close to her was considered out of their group
A traitor
Mingling with the enemy
Many nights she cried just wanting to be accepted by her peers
But it was in vain
It's hard being a white kid in a black school
