Farewell
Until We Meet Again

We have reached that point now
Where we must say farewell.
We have found that our paths
No longer run parallel.

So take a deep breath now,
And head down your road alone.
For I must do the same on mine
Here under the evening sky.

Here is where our paths must split,
Where one of us goes left,
The other right.
Here is the fork in the road:
One branch for my feet to travel,
The other for yours.

Who can tell why our paths diverge?
No one can prophesize all.
But they are going separate ways,
Here amidst the leaves' fall.

Though we must go our own ways,
Never looking back,
Someday our paths will meet again,
Here under the evening sky.

Here is where our paths must split,
Where one of us goes left,
The other right.
Here is the fork in the road:
One branch for my feet to travel,
The other for yours.

The eve of our journey together has come,
But another quest is here.
For in traveling our paths,
We are going into the unknown and fear.

Be resolute, and don't look back,
But head down your road right now.
For someday our paths will meet again,
Here under the evening sky.

We will reunite someday,
Though I know not when and where.
But I know that day will come,
So until then, good-bye.
