Legend of the White Scepter of Alrond – Galenodel Saga: Prologue

By Steven M. Jester

Sky. Blue sky. That is how I remember this once beautiful planet. It was once ruled by a righteous ruler. Well, righteous in the eyes of many. But, as I look at the ground underneath my feet, blood staining the once green earth, I remember the reason why it is I who hold the White Scepter now and not my mother. I was forced to watch as my mother's closest advisor took the throne after he killed her. I was banished from the castle and I ran in the streets of this fine city of Delmond for seven days. And then, like many I was helped to my feet. Then, instead of reading it in reports, instead of hearing it from my mother, I saw the true nature of our poverty stricken city. When I looked around, I saw hopelessness and despair, because the government had treated them so poorly. I was reluctant to tell them that I used to be part of the reason, part of the cause. But then, on the little news that was leaked from the castle, I couldn't take it anymore and blew my cover. I was afraid, afraid of how they would react when I told them all. But no one, especially Eliari, looked upon me in hatred. All through the hell that we went through, the sky remained blue. May this go down in history as a time when the citizens and the royalty of Alrond united to change, together we have won!
