"Viscount James Orwell is now in my custody, sir." she spoke into the tiny transmitter in her hand. A voice came out. Now this voice was not a normal one...it was one that was tinged with bitter cold and it had a chilling aura to it.

"Excellent, Gill...Where is he now?"

Caroline glanced to her side. The young man was still unconscious from the blow.

"He's still unconscious, sir."

"I must say that you have remarkable timing, Agent Gill. I had doubted you being the best in the agency. After all you are a very young woman. However, you have changed my mind."

Caroline's lips curved in bitter amusement. Most of the men within the agency were such chauvinistic pigs it was amazing. Her boss had never yet let her forget that she was a woman and women according to this particular group of males were supposed to be in their beds and their kitchens, nowhere else.

She looked down now at the man next to her...he was stirring.

He got up, his head throbbing and trying to focus his eyes. The metal handcuffs on his hands made it almost impossible to move his hands properly and the ropes that bound his feet cut into his legs...he felt a trickle of blood come down.

The last thing he remembered was changing out of his clothes and getting into bed...

"James...James...where are you...come here..."

What on earth...? Who was calling him at this hour? They knew he was tired and back from a hard game. People were so INFURIATING!!!

"James..."

It was sexy husky voice and he got out of his bed reaching for his slippers. He had just pulled on his T-shirt and jeans when he thought he heard a noise that was definitely NOT sexy. In fact it sounded like an antique breaking.

Now he was pissed. He wrenched open the door and yelled "What the hell is going on in here!"

That was when a voice murmured into his ear as the cold steel of a gun pressed to his temple "You make a single wrong move, I will kill you."

He put his hands in the air with such ease that it surprised even him.

"Who are you?"

He heard a tinkling feminine laugh that even he had to admit was incredibly alluring "If I told you that, darling then there won't be any point in kidnapping you now would there?"

And that was the last thing he heard.

"Good morning sunshine! Had a nice nap?" asked a man in a hoodie and sunglasses. The guy who was driving smirked. He had short spiky hair and an evil looking scar on his neck.

James eyed him coolly and said "Yes, quite pleasant until I saw your ugly face."

"Ooh...he's a brave one. Lets see how brave you are with this at point blank range!" The man said when he pulled out his Smith and Wesson pistol and pointed it at James's face.

That was when he heard the female voice next to him speak up "Drop that gun, Vincent or I swear I'll make sure you never have kids."

Vincent grumbled something incoherent but dropped the gun.

He turned around to look at the woman sitting beside him. His eyes widened at what he saw. She was dressed in a skin tight black cat suit with a leather jacket on top. Yet even in such dark clothes, her slim figure and her ample bust. Her fair, peaches and cream complexion stood out because of her dark clothes.

Her face...her profile was one of the most beautiful and interesting ones he had seen in a long time. Her eyes were a deep hazel grey and her mouth had to be the prettiest he had seen in a long time. She had an aristocratic, perfect nose that complimented her long lashes and fair skin. Long waist length auburn hair completed a picture of perfection.

She looked at him gazing at her and said "I had heard aristocrats were gentlemen. Staring really isn't all that gentlemanly."

He was embarrassed now as he stared down at his feet. Her remark had been cutting, to the point and sarcastic, far from sexy sultry welcoming tone she had used to lure him.

"Sorry. Where exactly are you taking me and what do you think will come out of this kidnapping?" He asked this with a stone face to get over the embarrassment he had caused to himself.

Vincent spoke once more "Don't worry your pretty little head about such things...You're bound to get a headache."

He and the guy in front cracked up at this lame joke and the girl sitting next to James shook her head in frustration.

"I'm sorry. We cannot tell you anything until we are allowed to. Until then, I suggest you sit back and relax. Its a long ride."

The windows had been darkened so that he could not look outside...

James struggled a little more with the handcuffs and the ropes on his feet but soon gave up.

The girl watched him in amusement and finally murmured "Don't. I can only control Vincent for so long."

For once in his entire life, he listened.

Vincent turned on the stereo and a song filled the air, a song by The Rasmus...

Oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh.
No sleep
No sleep until I'm done with finding the answer
Won't stop
Won't stop before I find the cure for this cancer

Sometimes I feel like going down, I'm so disconnected
Somehow I know that I am haunted to be wanted

I've been watching, I've been waiting
In the shadows for my time
I've been searching, I've been living
For tomorrows all my life
Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh.
in the shadows.........
Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh.
in the shadows......

As James looked towards the woman again he thought he saw a tear...but she saw him and turned away, her eyes looking at something he could not see...
