Chapter 1 - Not Even Normal

A/N: This chapter is mainly about the main character's life. All the action comes later. By the way, this is my first story on fiction press so be nice!

Jayda Blaire had never been very popular. She didn't have the latest fashions, or the best grades, and she wasn't good at any sports. She didn't fit into any of the normal school cliques. She was just there, every day, walking from class to class by herself. She had no friends, not even an acquaintance to speak of. She was completely ignored, unless of course the "in crowd" decided to shove her in a locker or down the stairs. She simply existed.

Her home life, if anything, was worse. Her mom had walked out when she was only 5, leaving Jayda with her abusive father. She couldn't really blame him; it was the alcohol that did it to him. She tried to remember, when her father decided that it would be a good time to slap her around, what it had been like before her mother had left, when they were a nice happy family. It never worked for long.

She longed to have a friend, someone to talk to, someone who would see past her plain brown hair and big hazel eyes to the person she was inside.

She had never hardly been near a boy, let alone talk to one, not that she could work up the courage to.

She had only two more years of high school, and she wasn't smart enough to go to college, not that she would be able to. She had no purpose in life, nothing to life for, and she often thought about ending her suffering, just slitting her wrists and getting it over with. But then, her father would lose his punching bag.

A/N: Did you like it so far? Pretty depressing right? Which is surprising, cause I've never been happier in life than I am right now. Anyways, if you liked it, tell me!
