When life becomes a burden,
Too heavy for man alone to bear,
To whom does he turn?

When frailty sets in,
And seeps away strength,
What does he do?

When existance is purposeless,
Oblivion seems peaceful,
Why should he continue?

Anything to give him back what he lost,
Anything to take away his pain,
Anything that can make him forget everything's different now.

No more singing in the rain and playing in the sunlight,
No more bliss filled moments when the world glows with joy,
No more innocence, childhood fades away into the night.

A black shade falls across the heart,
A bleakness settles upon the mind,
A darkness descends upon the soul.

Yet, always, a candle shimmers somewhere in the darkness.
