Slow Dance

In a huge room
With low, dimmed lights
Swaying timidly
On a magical night
Gyrating bodies
Then the music slows
Nervous jitters
Mumble out "hello"
You grab his hand
And pull him close
Stare into his eyes
Become engrossed
Catch your breath
And smile shy
Lay your head on his chest
A contented sigh
The crape paper swirls
On the rhythmic beat
His shirt feels soft
And smells so sweet
The song ends
Unwillingly pull away
Head in a cloud
For another you pray
And the music pulses on
Till another slow dance
Another sigh, another sway
Another romance
