Author's note

Okay I realize this may not very realistic and my characters may be off in la-la land, but I'm not Nora Roberts. This is my first attempt at writing a fic and I'm only 17. Please don't overly-dissect the entire story, and it was written in a bit of a haze because I'm doing this in-between school, sports, and a job. And I do realize Jonathan sounds like a stalker, so I will improve that to the best of my abilities. If you are wondering how Anissa got girlfriends, it's because not everyone in the school was Prejudice. However in the next chapters I will try to improve the dialog, the thoughts toward certain people and plot. R&R, but if you can't say anything nice then don't say anything at all.

At the end of school, Jonathan went looking for Anissa to causally "bump" into her. He nearly searched the whole school before he discovered her under a tree in the parking lot reading. None of the girls Jonathan had previously dated ever read unless they had too. And Jonathan himself was a bit of a bookworm. He was going to pretend to be heading to his car and would just so happen to look down and see Anissa and stop for a friendly word or two. His plan was going good until he tripped over his shoelace, which sent him face first into the ground less than two feet from Anissa.

"Oh my gosh! Are you alright?" she asked, startled from the thud that took away from the book. She rushed up to help him up.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Thanks" he said as he stood up and brushed the dirt off his clothes. He looked down at Anissa and saw that she had partially unbuttoned her shirt. He saw part of her bra and the curve of her mound and he nearly fell again.

"So what were you reading?" he asked, trying to take his mind off her blouse.

"Fahrenheit 451" she replied with a slight smile on her face.

"Really? That's one of my favorite books. Ray Bradbury is an excellent writer. His novels often make me wonder what the world could possibly end up coming to." Jonathan replied, in the tone of a literature critic.

"Me too, I thought I was the only one who read. Its nice to find someone who shares my like for reading." Anissa said, this time with a broad smile. She revealed perfect white teeth and a slight dimple in her cheek from the smile.

"I could give you a ride home of you need it" Jonathan offered.

"I don't think that would be proper. Besides, my dad is picking me up today. But thank you for the offer, it was very gracious of you." She said as the wind played with her hair. She bent down and picked up her things as she saw her dad pulling into the parking lot.

"I see you're not dead from the first day." Jon said as he helped her with the books.

"Nope, it actually went pretty good. My history teacher is really nice. Well, my dad just pulled up so I have to go.

Jonathan handed her the books and she took off for the car. "See you tomorrow!" he called after her. "See you" she replied and got in the car. Jonathan got in his and took off straight for home.

"Anissa, who was that boy you were talking to?" asked her dad. He was quite handsome, with a slightly browned complexion and a deep masculine voice.

"He was helping me out today. Showing me what classes to get to and where the lunchroom was. I also have a couple of classes with him. He's really nice" Anissa told her father in an innocent voice.

"Anissa, don't get too friendly with him. You need to concentrate on your studies, and besides he's white."

"Yes I know daddy, I always do good in school. And he being white shouldn't matter, because we're just friends. And that's all I want to be." She said…hoping her father wouldn't notice the lie in her voice.
