Who Cares About Boys?

Chapter 1

He could have answered these questions in his sleep. Honestly, hearing the same questions over and over had him

pulling out his hair. He should have just walked in with a typed manuscript. In spite of all these thoughts, however, he smiled

the best he could, and pretended that he was thrilled to be speaking with the person seated in the actor's chair in front of him.

All the other actors before him pretended to be ecstatic, why couldn't he?

The cheeky little blonde smiled coyishly at him, and her red lips formed to ask the next question. "So how does it feel to

have girls everywhere admire you?"

"I enjoy being approached by women I have to admit. I've very much embraced that and taken the bull by its horns."

Smiling again, her eyes were clearly roaming over his form. Giving a flirtatious look, she posed the final question, "So what's in

store for Dominic Manon now?"

Shifting in his seat, he said the same response that he had said all day, "I plan on staying in L.A., you know?

Maybe I'll take a short trip back home to England around Christmas to see my mom, then off to Germany. Though I lived in

England, I was born in Germany and still speak it. Right now, I'm just looking for new projects to work on. In fact, I'm working

on putting together an environmental awareness art show. I'll have artist sell their work and the money will go to the World

Wildlife Federation. The catch is that they can only use biodegradable materials."

Smiling broadly after the statement, he looked at the reporter for her response. It seemed that he had lost her half way through,

because she looked disinterested. Catching herself, she sat upright again, and faced the awaiting camera,

"This is Bridget Wyers, reporting for Star Sightings Journal. Thank you for joining us." Pausing through the closing jingle, she kept

her fake smile. As soon as the music shut off, she turned back to Dominic, who was already getting up to leave.

"Hold on there," she beckoned. Standing in front of Dominic, she adjusted her painfully tight blouse to expose more of

her chest, "Would like to get a drink with me sometime?"

Pausing a minute, Dominic looked at her. Blonde hair, red lips, big breasted; nothing different from the other women

who approached him. However, he hadn't had a date for about two weeks, and needed to go out and have a little fun.

"Sure, here's my number." Scribbling down some digits on a torn napkin, he passed her the information. She flashed

another smile, which Dominic returned, then left to join the camera crew.

"Hooked yet another one?" A deep voice somewhere behind him shook Dominic out of his thoughts.

Scratching the back of his head, he chuckled, "Yeah, I guess so."

Herberto, Dominic's bodyguard had posed the question. He was a large man, about 6'5", considerably taller than

Dominic's' 6' even. His skin was darker also, due to his Spanish decent. Laughing, he gave his friend a nudge,

"If you ever get bored, pass some dates my way!" Dominic almost toppled over from the simple nudge. Herberto didn't know

how strong he was. "A young guy like you though, you should be dating. Being a new movie star doesn't hurt either I

bet."

Walking over to the white covered table, Dominic began to fix himself coffee, "Herb, I'm only 26, and you're 28. It's not

like you're old either."

"Closer to 30 though. Eh, girls don't want me." Laughing he swatted Dominic again, causing him to spill coffee on

himself.

"Look what your causing me to do mate," taking a second to pause steady his coffee from swishing around the cup due

to his laughter, he proceeded out the door.

"Drinks tonight Herb?"

"No way man, and none for you either. You have that art gallery opening tomorrow."

"Damn it! I forgot all about that." Mentally berating himself, he sipped his coffee. He had hoped for a late night, full of

mixed drinks, good friends, and dancing.

"Be there at seven sharp. You can't come with a hang over," Herberto ran down the schedule for him while pressing the elevator

button. Pulling his black hair back into a ponytail, he continued, "You didn't expect to become a movie star and not

work, did you?"

"No, but I did expect a day off," he smirked. "What do we do there anyway?"

"Mingle," the elevator dinged softly as the doors opened and the two stepped in, "pictures. Look like you're good friends with the

artist. A public relations deal, which will look good because you're going to donate money to the Art Fund. You know the deal. Show up,

donate, people love you. 'Control the Mind' was a great movie, but if you care about the people who watched it, it will double sales for

sure. People dig that psychological, sci-fi shit right now, and you're it."

Closing his eyes and leaning his head against the elevator wall behind him, he silently wished for more sleep.

AN: Back again! I've been playing around with this idea for awhile, I hope everyone likes it. Dominic is based on the

cute cute Dominic Monaghan from Lord of the Rings. Just my lil fantasy of meeting him.
