He closes his eyes,
I never know what he sees,
I stare at him,
Never knowing if he dreams of me,
His body curled next to mine,
I feel his soft vibrations,
His warm breath on my neck,
I run my hand down his cheek and see his smile,
I stare at the patterns on the ceiling,
Trying to find the beginning and the end,
Where do we end?
When did we start?
Or have we even begun?
So many questions,
But not one of us is brave enough to answer,
I lay in silence,
I move closer to his warmth,
A snowy night should never be spent alone,
A winter is too long, too cold,
To survive with one heart,
He takes my hand,
Warming every cell,
I give into his body, to his words,
And join his dream.
