"The Thingy Poem"

I came out of the radio studio
I dashed across the square
Into the computer lab I went
Although you probably don't care

This poem has no metre
No rhythm to speak of
Unless it's some form of iambic pentametre
Told, you didn't I?

I would like to make all the lines rhyme
Because you, my darling, are worthy only of the best
But unfortunately I just didn't have time
To make this poem pass the test

Other people do write poems
And string together a word or two
So I thought I'd join in the fun
Here's my effort -- just for you!

Okay, so other people's efforts are better
I know that much is true
But still I thingy thingy thingy
When I run out of words to say to you

To be or not to be. That is the question
Whether tis nobler in the mind to suffer
the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune
Or by opposing end them

As for the point of what this poem is for
It is just an expression of my feelings towards you
Although reading it might prove quite a chore
I just want to say "I love you"

Although for such a thing words often prove inadequate
Some idiots still think it'll work
And to be fair they manage it better than I could
Dammit, it's not fair
