I lay where grass grew high and sat to think,
Thought I, I thought to myself,
"Why wait here where sunlight fails to reach,
And everything is dim?"
I wore pearlescent gems and looked
Like I'd been lost again
While purple skies turned blue turned into black.
I lay where grass grew high and sat to think,
Thought I, I thought to myself,
"Why lie here where moonlight fails to reach,
And everything is dark?"
I wore an opaque gem around my throat,
Which broke, and fell onto the ground,
Amidst the stars which danced and circled all around.
I awoke on grass nearby and stood to think,
Thought I, I thought to myself,
"Why wait here where artificial light seems to reach,
And everything is bright?"
I wore a nonexistant gem and spoke to no one,
No one spoke, I walked to think and think, thought I,
"Goodbye."
Thought I, I thought to myself,
"Why wait here where sunlight fails to reach,
And everything is dim?"
I wore pearlescent gems and looked
Like I'd been lost again
While purple skies turned blue turned into black.
I lay where grass grew high and sat to think,
Thought I, I thought to myself,
"Why lie here where moonlight fails to reach,
And everything is dark?"
I wore an opaque gem around my throat,
Which broke, and fell onto the ground,
Amidst the stars which danced and circled all around.
I awoke on grass nearby and stood to think,
Thought I, I thought to myself,
"Why wait here where artificial light seems to reach,
And everything is bright?"
I wore a nonexistant gem and spoke to no one,
No one spoke, I walked to think and think, thought I,
"Goodbye."
