Rose-Colored Glasses

I thought you saw me
Through rose-colored glasses.
Gazing at a wonder;
A delusion of your mind.

Flushed cheeks aflame
And rosy lips so tender.
This your eyes see
Through a crimson haze.

Perfect body with perfect curves
Flicker a desired attraction.
How can this be? No one has looked
Upon me so tenderly.

Your love must be altered;
Glasses that show love when wanted.
Not blind; just to suit
Some satisfaction.

But then you looked at me
With clear eyes donned with real love.
There were no glasses upon your face
To mislead intentions so rare.

You were looking at me.
Through your heart.

Dedication: To my sweet Anthony Draconius, thank you for visiting me this
week beloved. I will miss you.
