If the world weren't so tainted,
And the skies weren't so dark,
She would have lasted longer,
But she had a broken heart.

If her wings weren't so tattered,
And her soul not so broken,
Maybe someone would have heard her,
With her gentle whispers spoken.

If the wind weren't so cruel,
And the stars still had their shine,
Her life wouldn't have been so hopeless,
And she'd have something more than time.

If the clock weren't at midnight,
And the sands of time were not up,
Perhaps she would have found an angel,
Someone who showed her love.
