PROLOGUE
Who are the Star Protectors? Demons? Angels? The spawn of Hell come to destroy the planet? The protectors of mankind?
There has been much speculation about these beings. Are they even human? Who do they serve and why?
Perhaps it is best to start at the beginning. These beings of magnificent power are human just like you and I. They feel pain and sorrow and joy and happiness. They live and love much the same as we do. If they are more ruthless, more cruel, who can blame them; they have been ostracized by the Church and mankind because of their power. They are condemned by the very world that they seek to save. They are warriors always ready to defend but defended by none.
They serve a master who is even more powerful then they. Yet, he too, is mortal. He is not a demon, nor a monster. If anything, he feels more sorrow then most, for, it is on his head that the fate of Gaia rests.
Because they are human, these six people have stories to tell. They remember a time before the Lost Technology was found; before the 4 continents were united as one and before the threat of the Shadow World was eliminated, or at least held back.
These stories are painful memories to them.
I was asked by the Guardian Sater Landel to copy down their stories and to tell them to the world, in hopes that maybe, just maybe, the world will cease to fear its saviors and will finally begin to give them the honor they deserve.
This is their story.
