i'm in search of a daystar
a light i can turn on at night
so i can stay awake and not sleep—
too much life is wasted on sleep.
i need a daystar to make a living dream for me,
so i don't need sleep,
my daystar is enough.

my daystar is bright in day
and lovingly vibrant at night.
he takes me away to nowhere.
where we don't have to have screens on our windows,
and we can sit on the floor and watch the rain.

we'll laugh and love and live it up while we're young.
and when we're old we'll remember
laughing and loving and living it up
and i'll still be silly,
and he'll still be daystar,
and our nowhere will
always and forever be paradise.
