Loneliness

Six weeks no phone call
Eight weeks no sight of you.
I'm beginning to get used to the silence
of being alone.
The quiet is restful but the memories
of when you still came around
eat me in my sleep.
The dull void that used to be filled
with your laughter
has now been replace by
Silence.
Miles and miles of
Silence.
As I lay in my bed
and wait for the end.
