Too much to ask
It's so much easier to see
What's in front of your eyes
Than to look much farther
And beyond the lies
A sigh here, a tear there
But no one looks
To see what they can't bear.
All smiles and face alight
She hopes and wishes
They see her plight.
But beyond her mask,
They do not see.
She crafted it too well
And no cracks, there be.
Her heart is the moon,
Barren and bright
Her soul the sun,
Fiery and alight.
Will they see beyond the mask?
Or was her desire
Too much to ask?
