The Road to the Light

Prologue: Man Before Music

Long ago when the earth was still young, creatures roamed the planet. It was a happy, carefree time. But when the planet's sister planet was formed, Venus, things started to get out of hand. The creatures of Venus began to invade Earth with their high-tech equipment. (They evolved faster then the creatures of Earth) Wars started; the planet erupted in chaos. In order to stop the worlds from tearing one another apart, the gods made an agreement with one another. Using one of Venus's moons, they made a new planet. It would separate the two planets from one another: Thea.
Thea lived in peace for a while. Evolution took place, making the planet seem almost a complete replica of Earth. It was only when the first humans were created was when the world started to change, for the worse.
The first humans believed that they were gods. Tyrants, they turned into. Tyrants that had a thirst for something so great: immortality. Because of their primary intellect, these humans could not find a way to make themselves immortal. It was only selling their souls to a greater being, demons, which could make them gods. Even though the demons gave the humans their immortality, the god humans used them as their pets.
Thousands of years had passed. The god humans had become great rulers that took over the heavens. The lesser humans, the ones that came second, had become their great servants. Alone and degraded, these humans had become slaves to the gods up above.

Millions of years passed. A new species had evolved: angels. Immortal, they appeared to be, but human in heart. The gods welcomed the angels to live up in their castle on a cloud, but the angels soon turned to be more powerful then them. The gods drove the angels out of the heavens, afraid of this great power. There was only one angel they allowed to stay in the kingdom: Celeste.
Celeste was a simple angel, meaning she looked like a classic angel. Though she didn't look very powerful, Celeste had discovered something that made the gods tremble: music.
It doesn't sound like much to us now, but music to gods was almost like a battle cry. They feared it more then anything, even the angels. The gods wanted to master this great power and use it for their own good. Because Celeste was the only thing that could harness the power of the strange melodies, she could use them at her own free will. As much as they bribed her to teach it to them, she would never.

"Maybe," the young angel whispered in the darkness, "I should teach it to the humans."

Those were the words that the gods feared most of all. Cowardly and stupid, they believed that the power of music would overthrow them. The new concept scared them.
Celeste had finally made up her mind; she would teach them. With her golden flute in hand, she played the sweet melodies to the humans. The melodies so beautiful, it melted the hearts of even the meanest demons. Celeste comforted the humans; she taught them the methods that the gods hungered to know. Though the humans were good students, they never mastered the power of music quite like Celeste.
The gods were furious when Celeste returned. They beat, scolded, and finally imprisoned her in a golden necklace.
This golden necklace would be the key to defeating the gods.
