"What was that?", asked an excited Maria.
"It was a wishing star, luv. Make a wish on it and it might come true." said her father.
They were star gazing in a field of grass. Maria and her father lay out under the stars, naming the constellations. This was the most calming moment of that day and Maria always looked forward to star gazes. Almost every night they were out there, studying what God in Heaven had made for those on earth. Maria smelled the soft grass and fingered her father's hand. Nothing could be better than this and she hoped it would never end.
But it did. Maria's memory came crashing down around her. She was reminded of where she was. The old, musty room was small and dark. Maria hated it and hated it with a passion. She burst into tears and for the millionth time wondered where her father could be.
A/N: Okay, this was just a short mystery that I thought up in the car. Not very good, but I decided to give it a try. Please review and tell me what you think.
