"Andy? Are you ok? ANDY?!" Kelly screamed, in question.
"Ow. . ." Andy groaned, in answer.
"Can you see anything?" Kelly merely shouted, now assured that he wasn't dead.
"I seem to be in a big banquet hall." they heard distantly, someone standing up.
"Is it a long drop?" Kelly asked, somewhat rhetorically. It obviously was. They couldn't see the bottom.
"I don't think so. Not more then, say, 2 feet," Andy answered.
"What are you talking about? I can't see you!" Kelly exclaimed, in surprise.
"Well, it felt like two feet." Andy said, hurt.
"Hmm, it probably is two feet, they more then likely placed a distortion charm on it. I'll go next," Damien said, jumping down.
"Yes, it's a distortion charm," he shouted up, "Father taught me how to spot one. Come down."
The rest of them jumped down, and looked around the hall. There was a large, mahogany table, with many different colored napkins adorning it. There were twelve seats, six on each of two sides of the long table. The six went to the table, and each sat in a seat they felt oddly drawn towards. Damien, white. Andy, red. Adam, gold. Kelly, blue. Melee, black Alex, yellow. Across from them, there appeared 6 other people, as if by magic. Wait, no. It WAS magic.
"Hello, friends," the one sitting across from Melee, dressed in black said, warmly.
"Friends? You essentially kidnaped us!" Andy argued, angrily.
"Well, we had to, to bring you into the light." the man said back, piously.
Andy snorted. "That's absurd. I'm leaving, unless you explain, now." Andy stood up, and looked around.
"You can't. You'd need a telekinetic to get out, and your only one isn't trained enough to be able to 'port humans alive. So, I'll just explain." he smiled, benevolently, and spread his arms wide. "We are in a magicked room. Its in the same place as grand central station."
"Impossible," Adam scoffed. "The molecules would be mixed."
"No, no. Its not so. You see, its charmed so that its possible."
"Charmed?" Alex inquired, curious.
"Well, you know that some people, such as yourselves, have certain abilities. Not only can you use that, but also, you can create pure energy. This requires much more energy, and is harder to concentrate, but using runes you can do the equivalent of casting spells."
"So that's why I could kill that boy without using telekinetics or telepathy." Adam mused. Four of the other looked at him in horror.
"Yes." The man in black nodded, happily, "The ability is passed down through the family. Imagine that people have different power levels. So, lets say, that Bob has a power level of 100. If he has a child with a non-talented, then they'll have a power level of roughly 60. If he has a child with another 100, they'll be roughly 120. If he has one with a 60, roughly 95. However, power won't be awakened until there is a need for it, such as if you want something to happen very badly, or you're in life threatening danger. If you're in lifethreatening danger, then your gift increases exponentially, going from say, 5, to 200. If both parents have the same ability, or if one is untalented, then they'll have the ability of their parents. If they have different abilities, they child will have a random one."
"So, my parents are talented? Doesn't sound very likely." Melee said, skeptically.
"Mine too," Alex added.
"Shut up!" Damien commanded, angrily.
"Thank you, Damien. Now, there are six different sects, the red, the blue, the yellow, the black, the white and the multi-colored. The red is like you, Andy. . ."
"How do you know my name?!" Andy demanded.
"Oh, we did some research. Anyways, Andy, you're red. That's the domain or fire, flame, and vengeance. Your family is currently the strongest in the fire sect, and control most of the fire demons on Earth. Had a fireplace in every room, right? Yours was awakened when you wanted to save Kelly. Kelly, you aren't too closely related to anyone, except your mother had a little bit of blue in her. You're blue, water, or basically liquid. Yours wasn't awakened until you were about to die, making you much more powerful. Melee, your family has been faithful servants to the black for a long time. You're black. The black is essentially a large number of different beasts, scorned by humans. They aren't evil, as is commonly believed, merely outcasts. Vampires can have any kind of blood, and wouldn't stoop to drinking human blood unless insane, for they view drinking the blood of a sentient as cannibalism. You have powers about as strong as Andy, naturally, awakened when you wished for them to forget. Adam, your mother is red, and your father blue. Power is strengthened again when people from different sects have a child. You're naturally a multi-color. You too have roughly the same power as Andy. You're telekinetic and telepathic, for your mother and father. Your power was also strengthened by your intense anger. Multi-colors, which is our sect, attempts to keep a balance between the sects. You, Damien, as you know, are white, trained for a trade with the whites for one of their lead angel's children. Although common thought says that someone who goes against their parentage is stronger for, its sadly mistaken, for you are Andy's level too, although you could've been twice as powerful as he. The whites are what most people are, although they're hindered by the fact that if people realized that they were following magicians, they'd stop supporting them. The whites have long persecuted the black, although they have angels, they believe that the black are evil, and blasphemous. While the black are merely attempting to survive, the whites are attempting to wipe out the black. White is light, and supposedly, hope. You, Alex, too were not born with much power, for your parents are both very low leveled yellows, of the wind, and you wouldn't have awakened if you weren't about to die."
"We'll let you think on that overnight. You will go to your rooms, which are on the second floor, and fall asleep, immediately. Go, now." the one dressed in white smiled, and nodded towards the stairs.
The 6 left, five stunned by these revelations, the sixth merely bored.
