I was perusing through my poem archives today, and came across two lines that had no poem with them. "Long nails tipped in red, to hide the stains of blood." I decided that they were too good to leave hanging there, so I created a poem out of them. The end result isn't my best work, but oh well. I'm not sure what the poem is about exactly, but I have the song "Hotel California" running through my head (such a good song too), so I claim inspiration from that. Most of the lines actually go with the melody of the song. Scary isn't it? Ok, I'm done now.

***

You came strolling by today,
Laughing like you do.
Never glancing at the signs of good
Made especially to ward off you.
You flipped your auburn hair around,
A smug smile upon your lips.
Drooling minions came running about
Bowing beneath your fingertips.
You let out an evil cackle
Commenced to darken day.
So much for my many attempts
To kill or keep you at bay.

Long nails tipped in red,
To hide the stains of blood.
I am the only one running
When it's everyone else that should.
Wash your body carefully,
Erase the years of sin.
Yet no milky skin will hide the fact
That you're still evil within.

You turned and strode right up to me,
A shiver ran down my spine.
"What's wrong my sweet?" you gently purred
"You know you are meant to be mine."
I clenched my teeth and balled my fists
But you are far too strong.
No matter how long I keep running away
You'll catch up, before long.
I must resist as best I can
Keep back your devilish lust.
I don't know how, or what I can do.
But I must, oh yes I must.

Long nails tipped in red,
To hide the stains of blood.
I am the only one running
When it's everyone else that should.
Wash your body carefully,
Erase the years of sin.
Yet no milky skin will hide the fact
That you're still evil within.

Your crystal eyes bore into me,
They drown me in darkest blue.
I'm slipping under your seductive touch.
I'm madly falling for you.
Someone save me from the demon
That haunts my bed each night.
I'm dying slowly at her hand,
Just have to give up the fight.

Long nails tipped in red,
To hide the stains of blood.
I am the only one running
When it's everyone else that should.
Wash your body carefully,
Erase the years of sin.
Yet no milky skin will hide the fact
That you're still evil within.

I finally found my strength today
Came after you with my silver knife.
Ran you through when you least expected,
And watched as I took your life.
Your beautiful face, contorted with pain,
shock, surprise and fear.
I caressed your lovely blood-red locks
"Now you are mine my dear."
As your blue eyes glazed over white,
I threw your body to the ground.
I spat upon your pale white skin
Now you'll never again come around.

But something keeps me from sleeping,
Even though you are dead.
You may be gone in body.
But you're still there, inside my head.

Long nails tipped in red,
To hide the stains of blood.
I am the only one running
When it's everyone else that should.
Wash your body carefully,
Erase the years of sin.
Yet no milky skin will hide the fact
That you're still evil within.

And now I am evil within...
