A Silent Anger

There is a silent anger

Running through my veins,

Pulsing out of festering wounds,

Leaving angry stains.

There is a silent anger

Boiling inside.

A hate so over-whelming

It's becoming hard to hide.

There is a silent anger

That makes me short of breath.

Hold it down, hold it in,

It's choking me to death.

There is a silent anger

I simply must contain.

This anger and this hate,

Resentment turns to pain.

There is a silent anger

Pushing to be free.

I cannot hurt another,

So then I must hurt me.
