underneath the apple tree,
he - sat waiting for a peach.
for many years no peach fell;
tell - him where to reach.
past boughs and leaves and birds' nests,
- rests the fruit that is so golden.
but if he eats the fruit so tawn',
gone - will be the dreams of olden.
no longer would he need to reach,
for he would lose his purpose should he find his peach.
