Empathy

Gasping, Grasping
I hate watching you struggle for air.
I'm crying inside for you
Bleeding as you call to me
Call to me to save you.

Extreme empathy swells in my chest
Making my knees buckle
As you falter my soul crumbles
As a solitary tear cracks down your face like a spider's net,
The loss of feeling soon follows the surrender to oblivion.

Why are they so cruel?
Why do they mock the fallen?
They swoop down like vultures,
picking and feasting until sun-bleached bones are all that remain
from your morbid decay.

End this gruesome lullaby,
The sweet voice sickens
Venom seeps into my veins
And I weep for you
Will you weep for me too?
