If I lie here quietly
And do not make a sound
Curl up in a tiny ball
Imagining no one is around,
If I close my eyes
And drift away to silver mists
Press my hands over my ears
Make believe I do not exist,

If I strap on my weapons
And go out to fight
Kill everyone who strays in my path
(To twisted bitter delight)
If I annihilate kingdoms
Hunt down and massacre my foes
Rip my rival down from his altar
And mock his defeat as he dies alone,

If I throw my pride away
Crawl on my hands and knees
And tug desperately on passing coats
Begging for anyone to heed,
If I give you my money
Accounts, passwords, keys
And all in this world I own
Will you finally leave me be?

Will you let me disappear with the one I love
Save yourselves, and forget about me?
