We would live like the birds
Who sit cozily in the nest of brotherhood
And sing songs of joy from dawn to dusk
Always positive
Trusted and seen as equals by all
We would live like the birds
Or we would live like the dolphins
Who make peaceful flips into the air
And happily cry in their innocence
Always playing
Giving off rays of amazement and sheer beauty
We would live like the dolphins
Could we live like the dolphins?
With their persistent water
Not cruelly flooding
Never in drought
We could live like the birds
If we had their firm tree
Their responsible tree
To perch our nest
And the hard Earth that had been there so long
We would sing from dawn to dusk
Perhaps we live like the lions
The lions with power and strength
Always some who use it for compassion, for justice
But those for revenge, for terror, for deep despair
And no sympathy, only conceited greed
The choice
As humans, we are given that honor, that choice
Because we have the plentiful water, the persistent tree
We have all the joy living around us
We are given the power and the choice
The choice to oppress, to intimidate, to hate
Or to live and sit together, cozily in the nest of brotherhood
We could live like the birds
