Author's Note: I've decided to make this a series of poems based on the sights I've encountered during my first year at the University of Florida. I've only written the two so far, but there's bound to be others, I'm sure. Thanks for reading.

walking down the sidewalk
in her flimsy $100 dress
bright canary yellow
short and tight
with a band of brown around the waist
swinging a yellow umbrella
as the sun glints off the golden handle
of her matching yellow purse
the sounds of her sandals
flipping and flopping against the pavement
fill the morning air
strolling down the sidewalk without a care
the new girl in town
