Spouting through the soft ground,
Leaves opening toward the bright blue sky.
Growing day by day,
Fighting the wind, the rain, the heat, and the cold,
Determined to stay alive.
Blood red budding growth among the emerald green,
Closed off against the dangers of the world.
Slowly, petal by petal it blooms,
Urged on by the gentle touch of a butterfly's wings.
Blooming bright and beautiful.
Morning dew sparkling like diamonds upon the blood red petals,
Flashing back the light of the sun,
The glow of the moon.
Defiant and strong is the rose,
Blooming ever on.
With the help of a butterfly's wings.
