Sink
The rain falls.
The drops slide down my cheeks
Mocking,
Prickling tears at the corners of my eyes.
My head feels heavy and
My eyelids slowly droop down
Tears overpowering my muscles.
The cars on the grey-laden street splash thoughtlessly
In a big hurry, like their owners
Unlike me.
My feet feel nailed to the sidewalk pool
And my hands, though shivering constantly,
Refuse to surrender to the comfort of my pockets.
My legs will soon fail and
They seem to be dragging my weight
Finally, I relinquish my journey.
My jello legs crumple beneath me
Tears drip slowly down my cheeks.
My head stays down as I know now
My friendless soul dare not
Stand upright;
For I have failed.
