Accidental Suicide
Fae

i climbed up to the highest rooftop
conquered the highest mountain
all to throw my prettiest penny
into the largest fountain
i danced upon those marble walls
lost my footing on slippery sides
sank into the crystal waters
the pool that fallen angels cried

is it a crime
to commit this accidental suicide?
to taint my own veins with poison
that seeped from the tears i cried
to allow their salty nectar to drip
into my open, wounded pride
to bite my tongue until it bleeds
and wait for my heart to subside

i raced through scorching desert sands
and crawled through bush and briar
all to find the illustrious orchard
beyond the fields of fire
i ran up to the garden's gate
blooming with the finest flower bud
plucked from it a crimson rose
only to have it spill my blood

is it a crime
to commit this accidental suicide?
to throw myself into harms way
lay down before this coaxing tide
surrender to the fervent waves
casting all concerns aside
beneath a kaleidoscope sky
setting on the day that i died
