"Maybe we should split up, to cover more ground?" Selene, a young thirteen- year-old girl asked her companions. She had her silver hair done it two braded pigtails hanging past her shoulders.

Selen had on a denim blue jean skirt, and a black shirt with the words 'I don't despise boys, I despise everybody' on it, she also had several piercing in her ear's, along with dark blue framed glasses on her brow. The other three girls sighed. If boredom could kill, all four of them would have dropped dead on the sidewalk several minutes ago.

"Maybe," Peggi, the other silver haired girl, but with black highlights and blue eyes, started with boredom dripping from her voice. "but let's just stick together a bit longer."

Peggi had on a white sport's top, and a pair of blue jeans, her hair was pulled up in a loose ponytail hanging to her mid-back. Resa, with her long brown hair and chocolate eyes, had on all black, black pants, long black shirt, and a black sweater tied around her waist.

The last was the redhead, Eevee, with green eyes, who had on a two laired long sleeved shirt, green on top, and white on the bottom, along with a pair of jeans.

"I think splitting up would be better right now Peg." Eevee said, stretching.

"Then well split up." Resa nodded. "Selene and Peggi, you wonder around the dark ally's, Eevee we'll head for the school."

"The school?" Selene asked, blinking. "Why the hell would they hang around schools? Don't they really hate it there?"

"Oh contraire." Resa said. "They like hanging around there, plenty of fresh victims."

"So it's settled." Eevee said, her eye's lighting up with excitement. "We'll meet up at the park after it gets dark."

"About two hour's then." Peggi checked her watch. "Okies, see you then guys!"

Peggi waved cheerfully, then fallowed Tea and Selene heading down the sidewalk leading to the main road and shops.

"Resa, how come you know so much about them anyway?" Eevee asked as the two headed towards the school.

"I'm not sure really." Resa shrugged. "I've just known since. Well, as long as I can remember."

Eevee tilted her head slightly at Resa, who now seemed to be in deep thought. She was about to open her mouth to ask another question, when Eevee heard something.

"Did you-" Eevee screamed when she felt something, or someone; kick her in the back, causing her to fall to the ground. Eevee struggled, someone was on top of her holding her hand's down.

"Eevee!" Resa glared at the person who had launched the attack, a gothic looking punk wearing all black much like her. "Ha!"

Resa yelled, willing herself to use her powers. Red and blue energy shot at the punk, pushing him off Eevee, but on accident or not, his knee hit the back of Eevee's head, knocking her out.

"Who are you?"

Whoever it was smirked, revealing blood stained teeth, and a sinister smile.

"Friend's call me Dream Taker."

'For obvious reasons.' Resa thought, glaring at Dream Taker more. Eevee stirred, pushing herself up off the ground. Dream Taker, who was standing next to the girl on the ground, kicked Eevee hard in the side.

Eevee let out a cry of pain, curling up in a ball.

"Leave her alone." Resa hissed, her long hair starting to rise, and the air around her crackling with red and blue sparks.

"And what if I don't?" Dream Taker smirked, pulling Eevee up by the collar of her shirt. "I am looking for someone to hang out with."

"Kisama, don't you dare!" Resa glared. Eevee decided, it was do or die time. Using her leg she kicked Dream Taker's feet out from under him, and he released his grip on her shirt.

Resa took this as her opportunity and released some more of her energy at Dream Taker.

"Now Resa!" Eevee told Resa, who nodded. Resa dug into one of her pant's baggy pockets, pulling out two guns, she threw one to Eevee.

Dream Taker took the first shot from Resa with a grunt, but kept standing. Then another and another until three shot's hit Dream Taker in the chest and he feel back.

"You. You bitches.." Dream Taker spat, a pool of blood slowly forming around him.

Resa walked over, looming over him.

"Nikui mono, shup-pats shimas kore sekai no hikari," Resa chanted the haiku of years ago, the chant they all knew, the chant that would end this fight. Dream Taker yelled, twitching in pain, his skin burned and sizzled; he felt like her was being burned from the inside out.

"ritaan e kurayami." Eevee added her voice for the last part of the chant. Dream Taker let out one more howl of pain before light pierced his skin, shinning from his inside, then he disappeared when the light.

"You alright?" Resa asked, helping Eevee to her feet.

"Yeah." Eevee said, adjusting her shirt so it wasn't chocking her anymore. "Let's head to the park."

Resa nodded, looking towards the river where the sun was going to hid for another night.

"What happened?" Peggi asked, jumping off of the swing she had been swinging on, trying to see if she could go over the bar.

"We heard screaming." Selene said, frowning. "Run into any creeps?"

"Yeppers." Eevee smiled.

"What about you two," Resa crossed her arms. "find anything?"

"No." Peggi rocked back and forth on her heels. "He didn't hurt ya, did he"

"No, he just surprised us.." Eevee sweat dropped, she didn't want Peggi to worry about her, or go insane about it and start ranting like she usually did. Peggi eyed Eevee suspiciously, then looked to Resa to see if this was true, but Resa had her face set at 'what ever she said, I didn't see anything.'

"Alright." Peggi didn't stop her suspicious glances at the two.

"Let's head back." Selene said, looking bored. "I mean, we aren't supposed to be out after dark anyway, right?"

Eevee blinked at Selene, causing Selene to sweat drop.

"What?"

"Who are you and what have you done with my friend?" Selene glared at Eevee, her eye twitching.

"And that is supposed to mean what exactly?" Selene asked threw clenched teeth. Eevee smiled, sticking out her tongue and started to walk away.

"Kan-kan!" Selene hissed after her, fallowing with a glint of anger in her eyes.

"And those two are supposed to be.."

"Best friends.." Resa nodded, and the two older girls have sighed. The two fallowed, as well in silence for a few minutes, the only sound were the arguing of their two younger companions.

"Did you have to use the guns?" Peggi asked finally. Resa only nodded, watching as Selene pounced on Eevee.

"It doesn't seem right that we have them." Peggi continued, putting her hands behind her head. "I mean, what would our parent's think if they new we had them in the first place, let alone out shooting people at night to send them back to the void?"

"It doesn't matter." Resa said. "And it's better if they don't know, to keep them safe."

"But what about. our safety?" Peggi watched as Selene and Eevee fell on to the grass, laughing. "It doesn't seem fair that we can't lead normal lives, and that government agent's aren't out here doing this."

"I don't know Peggi." Resa sighed. "We don't even know who the people giving us the guns in the first place work for the government or not."

"That's it?" Peggi turned to Resa, frustrated. "Were just supposed to accept it? We didn't ask for this, Resa!"

"And you think I asked for these thought's in my head?" Resa asked, pointing at her head. Peggi looked away.

"I'm sorry Resa." Peggi said. "I just don't think its fair.."

Resa's eye's softened towards her friend.

"Hey." Resa put her hand on Peggi's shoulder. "Don't worry about it, kay?"

Peggi nodded, smiling slightly.

"Are you two coming?" Selene called back to them from down the street. Eevee was waving her arms in the air.

"Were coming!" Peggi grinned, and started running to catch up with them, Resa next to her.

"What were you guys talking about?" Eevee asked, titling her head at the two as they walked back to Peggi's house.

"Nothing Eev." Peggi assured her, putting her arm around Eevee's shoulder. "I've got an idea!"

"Oh joy." Selene rolled her eyes, Peggi whacked her. Eevee giggled, along with Resa, who smirked at the sight of the two.

"Why don't we watch those Saint Seiya DVD's when we get back to my basement hide away?" Peggi ignored Selene, who was twitching and glaring at Peggi.

"Squee!!" Eevee exclaimed, skipping a head and twirling.
