Dark walls enclose the frightened child
So young, so naïve
But yet, so tortured, so troubled
Not knowing what to do,
Ever confused, never quite knowing
Anything about her past, present,
But especially ignorant about her future
What lies ahead-knows she not
Nor do her family, nor few scattered friends,
Tossed into a violent sea-
The sea of life, of school, of work
It churns, whirls, spits her out,
Really no worse off than when she entered
But yet, everything seems different,
Worse, horrible
A depressing thought creeps into her mind,
Refusing to leave, she feels that there's no choice. . .
No choice at all.
She feels she must kill herself,
And end it all.
