Chapter 3
The auditorium had an almost welcoming feel about it. It was dimly lit, except for the stage. As Titania walked in, a little late, with her three best friends, she noticed a large group congregated between the stage and the first center row of seats. This included the kangaroo Remmy, the two shorter demons Voisine and Chaz, the vampiress Willow, and Sargonnas. Sargonnas was leaning against the front of the stage, holding the vampiress in her arms with a look of serenity and utmost affection on her face. It didn't seem like a look the rough, crude, mysterious wolf demon would sport.
Titania wasn't very pleased.
The drama advisor, Mrs. Beaudin, was a conservative little moose demon. Her manners were bitter sweet and easily taken advantage of. As she spoke about things that everyone already knew about, even the first timers, most members of the little group conversed amongst themselves. And they easily got away with it.
"So…" Titania began, leaning close towards her three friends. "What's the deal with that Sargonnas girl, anyways?"
"What do you mean?" Alyssa asked, giving her a strange look.
"Just…what's the deal?"
Rin gave her the same strange look as Alyssa, but explained the demon. "She's… well, she's Sargonnas. She's a crazy wolf demon. She acts all tough and intimidating, and most people stay away from her, but if you get to know her she's really nice. She's a fun kid, very strange and…unique… but fun." Titania nodded, a distant look in her jade eyes.
Jackie tilted her head, raising a slender brow. "You sure do seem interested with Sargonnas…"
Titania looked at her, a blank expression on her face. It suddenly shifted when she realized how ridiculous she was acting. "Abah! Whoa-well, it's just…she's very strange and I was just wondering about it." Jackie and Alyssa nodded in understanding, but when Titania returned her gaze to the wolf, Rin smiled with slight suspicion.

"Arise fair sun, and kill the envious moon, who is already sick and pail with grief that thou her maid are far more fair than she. Be not her maid, for she is envious…" Titania watched with unknown emotions as Sargonnas read Shakespeare to an "oblivious" Willow who sat atop a ladder. Tryouts. Sargonnas and Willow were sure to get the leads. Despite Mrs. Beaudin's obvious dislike of homosexuality, none of the other boys could portray true emotion. They could portray anger, joy, boredom; anything but love and passion. And Sargonnas already dressed enough like a boy. A boy with a well endowed chest…
Titania mentally slapped herself.
"Oh Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo? Deny thy father and refuse thy name, or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love, and I will no longer be a Capulet…" Titania felt a sudden pang of jealousy and, being so wrapped up in the performance, could not question herself. She closed her eyes and imagined herself as Juliet in Shakespeare's world. She couldn't try out herself; she wasn't nearly as good an actress as Willow.
"Alright, parts will be posted tomorrow outside my room," Mrs. Beaudin said at the end of the meeting.
"So we still hanging out today!?" Titania looked up at the sound of Sargonnas's call. But alas, is we directed towards the vampire. The wolf went trotting up and linked arms with her.
"Why yes, my dear Romeo, do we take our leave?" she replied, still in Shakespearean speech. The two laughed and Sargonnas pulled her closer.
"Ah, my Juliet; Apollo would send his chariot from the heavens for you," the wolf replied. Titania returned to gathering her stuff and tried to focus on the conversation her friends without sneering.
"Hey, Rin…Do you think you can call me tonight? I have something I wanna talk about, but in private…," she asked as the other girls left.
