Lesson Learned
Written by: Felicia Spencer

AN: Here's another angst filled poem. Don't ya hate me. Well I'm a woman
scorned. (Long story, so don't ask.) I hope you like it. So R&R. Please.

Time has taught me a very valuable lesson
It's taught me to fess up to my confessions
Why did I let my love linger in my heart
I should've told you my feelings from the start
Why did I quickly push you away
Instead of saying what I had to say
Please forgive me
Don't ever leave me

I could always see the love in your eyes
There was so much love, it took me by surprise
To be honest with you, I didn't know what to do
I was so lost and confused, I didn't have a clue
So when you asked me out with no delay
I lost my nerve, and the words I couldn't say
Please forgive me
Don't ever leave me

Please don't think that I never loved you
You've got to know that this just ain't true
My heart has always called out your name
These feelings are still there, and that'll never change
I want to take a moment to tell you the truth
I have always loved you, no one but you
Please forgive me
Don't ever leave me

However one day you finally left
And these secrets, I've kept all to myself
I only wish that you could know
Just how much I loved you so
Time has taught me a valuable lesson
I should've told you my confessions
And I'm sorry
So very sorry
