DUSKY RAINBOW

Topaz, Sapphire, Diamond;
Jewelled lights glitter
Throughout unknown streets,
Across unknown hills;
Darkened with night's approaching shadow.
But the sky -
The sky has not yet been engulfed,
The day still holds on;
A void between the two worlds,
Creating a dusky rainbow.
Deep red angrily outlines the horizon,
Fading slowly, slowly
As each minute passes,
Losing it's strength;
Fading into yellow,
Like a healing bruise.
Blending into greens,
Into turquoise, navy until
Finally the blue-black prevails
And the darkness has won the battle.
