I stand beneath the shower,
My bare feet against the cold floor,
And allow the warm water
to wash over me in droplets,
Each one like an idea suddenly appearing
in my mind.

When I step out, dampening the carpet,
I rub my head gently,
And it feels as though I am massaging
the ideas through my scalp,
And into my thoughts.

Sitting before the fireplace,
Warming up my drying skin,
I watch the flickering flames,
Dancing, dancing,
Dancing into shapes
and giving me new inspiration.

Curling up in bed,
I close my tired eyes,
And the pictures in my dreams
make me want to write them down,
And keep them forever as memories.
