I Told You So

I hate to say I told you so
It's not like I wanted it to be true
I just knew that it was
As all bad things are
But if this wasn't true
We'd never know how low we really can go
And we'd always wonder
As we wandered the empty land
As lone wolves in the sea
Always in solitude
And out of place
Rejected by all our surroundings
To the point of death
For lack of air
But our corpses float onward
Because there has to be some
Sort of destination out there
Some place to get to
Where bloated and lonely corpses
Are welcomed
To walk the night in a daymare
Knowing just how low they can go
And that once you bend over that last time
Your back breaks
And you can never get back up
I told you so
