Even a Teen ~ By Carly LeBlanc
This is a word that all people fear
And its not something anyone wants to hear
But when it's the only word that can be used
You look at the Doctor and say 'You must be confused'
You don't have to smoke do drugs or be obscene
Because this disease can affect even a teen
When the Doctor told me the God awful truth
I couldn't believe I wasn't a healthy young youth
My heart stopped beating, I found it hard to breathe
I couldn't believe this could happen to me
You don't have to smoke, do drugs or be obscene
Because this disease can affect even a teen
I could feel the tears swell in my eyes
But I pulled myself together and held my head high
I went to the hospital later that night
Preparing for the battle that I had to fight
You don't have to smoke do drugs or be obscene
Because this disease can affect even a teen
I don't plan to lose to something this bad
So it's going to leave just like a fad.
This word won't win, even if it tries
Cause I have it in the bag, and that's no lie.
