How it Wasn't Supposed to Be
*
She lies on her bed
Exhausted and numb
A day of work
Finally done
~
He comes home
Yells through the house
Can't get his own damn beer
The damn stupid spouse
~
She cries as she moves
Gets up and gets his beer
Afraid if she doesn't
He'll do again
What he did last week
~
She hands him his beer
He pulls her down
Her shoulder now hurts,
Her lips bleed,
Her face stings,
Her legs bruise,
Her neck aches
Everything hurts
Now that he's home
~
She wishes for death
It just won't come
She remembers her past
Doesn't know how she became
This wreck of a woman,
From such a good girl
~
She lies on her bed
He snores beside her
She looks in the drawer
A bottle of pills
~
She doesn't hurt anymore
