Cry of the Huntress

As the darkness rattles on,
A shoulder slumps,
Awaiting dawn.
Eyes purple frozen snow,
Life slipping away,
With nowhere to go.

Darkness heeds her inner call,
The soul wanting to end it all.
She finds herself lost again,
Falling as the light goes dim.

Shivering from fear so common,
Bleeding through a deep old wound.
Surrounded by a familiar hate,
She knows she is already too late.

A tear falls soundlessly,
Shattering like glass endlessly.
Breaking into the darkness,
Lost in all its harshness.

Darkness heeds her inner call,
The soul wanting to end it all.
She finds herself lost again,
Falling as the light goes dim.

Her falling voice,
Only a whisper.
Calls out to her lost lover.
Dead so long ago,
A memory burned in her soul.

She finds herself lost again,
The Cry of the Huntress,
The soul within.
