Twilight of Civilization

Book I: Twilight

"Small movements rise, and small movements fall.

However, the twilight of civilization brings the darkness to us all.

Again, ignorance and barbarianism shall rise…

As parasites on the corpse of civilization...

Thousands of years of progress reversed in a single decade…

The long decaying social order does not yet realize this.

Does not a mighty old tree appear strong from the outside?

However, once the storm comes, the effects of rot and parasites within will show…

And so the mighty old tree shall fall, and take down all its roots intertwine with.

The detritus of one civilization shall bring down those closest to it, and then the ones closest to those, and so on, and so on…

The people will awaken from civilization as if from a dream…

And enter a thousand year long reality of pain, misery, and agony…

Despite our efforts, this cannot be stopped…

Simply not enough people care about their civilization…

I fear that once the realization of what is happen hits them, it will be too late…

May the Almighty save civilization…

For sometimes I doubt our efforts to cushion the fall will have much effect."
